colour stuff and hitler

So, I changed my template as you can see. I expected to be trawling sites for half an hour until I found one I liked, but I happened on this one quite quickly. It has stars, see? This is as festive as my template is ever going to get, so enjoy it. Plus, it's grey, and as we all know, to me grey is, well, grey is grey. I want my template to always at least have some grey in it. Though I was talking to someone about colour therapy (colours have an effect on your mood or something to that effect, you know, all this new age bollocks. What will these kids think of next?) and she said that grey is very bad, because though it doens't mean that things are very bad, it doesn't mean that they're that good, either. You're not suicidal, but neither are you skipping through a meadow of daisies. With... plaits, and I don't know, a little basket. (I think I'm thinking of Little House on the Prairie. You know the bit at the beginning where the little girl skipped through the meadow, and all was happy happy joy joy...?) Anyway, I digress. I think that description is a pretty accurate one for my life at the moment. And I like grey. I don't think it's that depressing.

I'm studying Nazi Germany for AS History. We're currently looking at Nazi foreign policy and how they managed, after the depression that followed the Wall Street Crash and the general lack of stuff of every description that they were going through after WWI, to rearm and be in a position to launch another war. The policy of appeasement helped a lot there - "He's harmless, so what, let him have an army/more land/loans/other crap." Did they not realise that the man was a headcase? Even then? It must have shown. They must have had some idea. I mean, didn't they have... spies? Apparently Hitler was very lazy (though still a dictator) and though they presented a facade of order the Nazis were extremely disorganised behind the scenes. Didn't anybody even suspect him of loopiness to the nth degree?

Sorry for the history lesson there. Did I come across as if I knew what I was talking about? Cool.

You can still buy Mein Kampf, but amazon.co.uk doesn't seem to carry it. Odd, that.

It's 11:45. I can't wait any longer for lunch. I have the cold the rest of the world seems to have, but it hasn't affected my appetite.
