fox juxtaposed with the barbie head So I was bored and decided to do a google on my online nick, as you do (my diary is the top result for 'ghostfox' - I hope no one decides to slap a copyright on it, or I'm going to be in a rather awkward position) and I found this - a sculpture entitled 'ghost fox'! It's cute, isn't it? There's the little fox, and he's looking up at the ghost fox in the sky. (I think he may be sitting on the head of a Barbie, but that's beside the point.) I feel flattered that someone named a sculpture after me, which is ridiculous because this person has obviously never heard of me - I mean, the sculpture was done in 1997, way before I started this diary. I think I'm going to cry. I love reading fanfic, and my current obsession of choice is the LotR-verse. There is some amazing stuff out there, but I have to say that I wish that 99% of the writers weren't American. No, scratch that. I wish that there were no differences in English spelling and usage between us, because I really don't have a problem with Americans, honestly. I think I've grumbled about this before, but I've been needled into dragging it up again because of the appearance of the phrase 'too bad' in a fic. To me (and I am pendantic and obsessive in the extreme, I admit) that is the equivalent of opening up a fic and finding Legolas saying to Gimli, "Dude, where's my quiver?!" Just for the sake of argument. Hee! Look at this! I'm going to squeal, I can feel it coming on! diaryland trading cards!
Description: Internet-obsessed fanfic-devouring girl not clever enough to be a geek. Strengths: Procrastination, paranoia, ability to tolerate own company, speed-reading, dreaming. Weaknesses: General ineptness, html-phobia, untidiness, terrible memory, inability to answer emails on time, original polos (for their sneeze-inducing qualities) obsessive-ness, procrastination. Special Skills: Ability to make the rest of the known world disappear at will. Weapons: Death-stare. Theme Song: In The Waiting Line - Zero 7 Made and kindly made available by them :points upwards: tinkered with ever so slightly by yours truly, and gakked from Goovie. I didn't quite squeal, but it was a near thing. <3 |
